The importance of the professor's role
Experience has shown that most students who previously participated did so after recommendation from their academic supervisors. What's more cool for a student than having their supervisor telling them they have a good chance of winning one of the Awards for best bachelor research? Also, you – as a professor, dean, lecturer or rector – have a good oversight over the bachelor research within your department/institution.
Invite your students
Would you like to help your students to obtain more academic experience and help us to make this year’s conference a great success again? In that case we would like to ask you to guide your student’s attention towards the Student Research Conference. And maybe one of your students will win one of the Student Research Awards!
The idea for a Dutch conference for undergraduate research comes from a cooperation between University College Roosevelt and the Association of Universities in the Netherlands. The idea is common in other countries. In the United States, and also in the United Kingdom and Ireland, annual conferences are organised where the importance of research done by young scientists as part of their scientific education is emphasized. In the Netherlands, the conference is hosted each year by a different university. In 2010, the first SRC took place at Leiden University, in 2011 at TU Eindhoven. In 2012 University Utrecht had the honour to host the conference in her magnificent Academic Building, while in 2013 the Amsterdam University College was host in its brand-new academic building in the Amsterdam Science Park. Last year, the SRC was hosted at the Delft University of Technology. The SRC 2015 took place at the Tilburg University. In 2017 the SRC will take place in Middelburg, at the University College Roosevelt!
